Our Leadership Team

Jay founded Lohman Company in 2000 after working in the accounting industry for over 30 years. Bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise that he gained along the way, he set the foundation for the firm’s future success.  As President, he is a member of the Executive Partner Group as well as the Senior Management Group.  His primary role is the overall management of the firm and the coordination of assurance, tax and consulting engagements. His specific area of expertise lies in manufacturing, distribution, service, construction, real estate, and technology industries.

Under Jay’s leadership, Lohman Company has ranked in the Phoenix Business Journal’s annual Top 25 CPA firms listing every year since 2003. Jay received the Centers of Influence Award from AZ Business Magazine in 2008. The Centers of Influence Award was given to accountants, bankers and lawyers who positively impact, guide and provide consultation to Arizona businesses. Dedicated to the development of Arizona businesses, Jay often shares his extensive knowledge of the industry by serving as a panel member at various business presentations, including events held by the Arizona Society of CPAs.

An aptitude for math and numbers led Jay to a career in accounting and his passion for helping his clients has kept him there. When he was 19 years old, the president of a large manufacturing company took the time to mentor him and opened the door to the CPA profession. Always grateful for the opportunity this provided him, Jay feels it is important to give back by spending time with anyone who may benefit from his guidance.

Growing up on a farm in Southwestern Michigan, Jay appreciates family values and hard work. He currently resides in Mesa, Arizona, and lives within eight miles of his three children and eleven grandchildren. Spending time with family and friends are two of his greatest pleasures in life.
